Crunchy potato buns! (Burger bun alternative)

 

Ever had burgers but no buns? Why not try this alternative to bread.

  • Take 2 whole medium, washed potatoes and pierce the skins with a fork a few times each. 
  • Cook in the microwave for 5 minutes then turn over and cook for 5 minutes more.
  • Slice each in half to make bun halves.
  • Put a heavy-based frying pan on medium heat.
  • Season the inner sides of the potatoes well.
  • Add a little oil to the pan and carefully place potatoes in a square, seasoned side down.
  • Take a pot big enough to cover all the potatoes, place it on top and press down just enough to crush the potatoes slightly.
  • Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side till a good crispy layer is achieved.
Fill with anything you like and enjoy, they're delicious!
