Choosing your potatoes

 The decision as to which varieties of potatoes you should grow can be helped by knowing which types require mounding, hilling and earthing up or not. This list should help with your choice.

Determinate potatoes tend to produce a single layer of tubers, which develop just under the surface layer of the soil and shouldn't need earthing up if the original seed potato was planted deep enough.
