Well I’m happy to say the straw mulch experiment worked a treat. We had three frosts this month that I know of and the microclimate the straw produced protected the young potato plant perfectly. They are all through and growing well without any setbacks. This is a method I will be continuing in the future, for the protection and also keeping the moisture in the soil through the hot sunny days we’ve had. All in all very happy.
